No. Silicone suction cups only need a clean, smooth surface to grip. They peel off without marks, residue, or scratches. Fully reversible on all smooth surfaces including glass, ceramic tile, painted metal, and car dashboards.
Does the MagSafe magnet work through my iPhone case?
Yes, if your case is MagSafe-compatible (most Apple and aftermarket cases are). For non-MagSafe cases, use the ring grip side instead. It works with any phone 4 to 6.5 inches wide.
What about Android phones?
The suction side works the same way. Use the ring grip to hold your Android phone securely - it fits any phone 4 to 6.5 inches. You will not get the instant MagSafe snap that iPhones get, but everything else works identically.
How much weight can the suction cups hold?
Up to 2kg on clean glass, tile, or metal. That covers any phone, even with a heavy case. Press firmly when you stick it, and re-press if you notice any loosening.
What surfaces does it not work on?
Suction cups need a smooth, non-porous surface. It will not work on fabric, brick, rough wood, matte paint, wallpaper, or textured walls. If your phone screen sticks to a surface, Grippi sticks to it too.
